Heavy Haul & Specialized Driver Qualifications

• Must be 23 years of age
• Verifiable Class A driving experience / 1 year in the last 3 years of OTR/Regional or for the same type of driving operation they are applying for
• Verifiable Open Deck experience / 6 months in the last 2 years 
• If the candidate has 6 months flatbed experience more than 2 years ago and less than 10 years ago, they can qualify for flatbed by attending a load securement awareness program during Orientation.
• Good MVR and PSP
• Overdimensional hauling experience

Other Qualifications

• Able to pass federal DOT Physical and Drug Screen
• No alcohol related offenses in the past 5 years
• No more than one moving violation in the past 12 months No more than two in the last 36 months
• No DOT preventable recordable accidents within the past 12 months
• No history of reckless or careless driving in the past 36 months
• Satisfactory work history (all terminations reviewed for safety related issues)

Heavy Haul & Specialized Equipment Requirements

TRACTOR:

• 2000 or newer
• Qualcomm- MCP-200 or IVG
• Tractor & Trailer combination cannot scale over 40,000lbs

FLATBED STEPDECK DIVISION:

• Headache rack on tractor
• Floors must be WOODEN, NO NAIL STRIPS, NO ALUMINUM FLOORS
• Min of (10) 5/16 or 3/8 grade chains
• Min of (10) 5/16 or 3/8 grade rachet binders
• Min of (10) 4” straps
• Min of (10) winches or portable rachets for 4” straps
• Tarps are required, recommended 8’ to fit 53’ trailer
• Center pin on 7-way plug wired HOT (when switch is on)

HEAVY HAUL DIVISION:

• Working strobe light
• Center pin on 7-way plug wired HOT (when switch is on)
• Must have Flags
• Wide Load signs (2)
• High Pole

Orientation Check List

• Your Tractor – Inspected and a Qualcomm or Rand McNally system Installed
• Proof of Insurance if using your own coverage
• Securement Equipment – All equipment must be present for inspection
• Clear Copy of your Paid Form 2290 ( Heavy Highway Use Tax )
• Clear Copy of Your Trailer Title/Registration
• Your Valid Commercial Drivers License
• Medical Card & Long Form Physical
• Bank/Checking Account Information – For Direct Deposit
• Emergency Contact Information
