MCDONOUGH, GA (October 31, 2022) – Bennett Heavy & Specialized (BHS) is pleased to announce that Alicia Echols, BHS Director of Safety & Compliance, graduated from American Trucking Associations LEAD ATA yearlong program at the Annual ATA Management Conference and Exhibition in San Diego, California, on October 24, 2022.

According to ATA, “LEADers” are educated about the regulatory and legislative processes, and ATA’s efforts to shape those processes, including advocacy, image and outreach, research, and leadership training.

“Finding and retaining the next generation of leadership is critical to our industry’s continued growth,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “The impressive men and women that make up the LEAD ATA program are setting our industry and association up for success.”

Bennett Motor Express has made the list of American Cranes & Transport Magazine’s Top 10 Specialized Transportation Companies in North America for 2019. According to the magazine, Bennett ranks No. 6 in size as determined by fleet size and capacity.

The American Cranes & Transport Transport50 is a listing of North America’s top specialized transportation companies, ranked on the amount of trucks and trailers in the fleet as well as overall weight capacity.

Bennett Heavy & Specialized (BHS) drivers, Mark and Holly O’Donnell, created a unique tribute on their 2018 Peterbilt 579 truck, “The Family Tree,” to honor truckers across the nation. According to Land Line magazine, a dozen of pictures surround a map of the United States, representing all generations of the trucking industry, including trucks, truck stops, drivers, etc.

The couple put a lot of thought and consideration into the design of their truck. “Everybody does patriotic, military and EMS. Nobody does ‘thank you’ to the American truck driver,” said Holly O’Donnell, BHS driver.

BOSS Crane & Rigging recently added two new Manitowoc MLC100-1 to their fleet of cranes. The MLC100-1 is a great asset for BOSS. The new compact crawler cranes make handling jobs across various industries easier and more efficient. Plus, the crawler is made in the USA. ”The MLC100-1 had a lot of the features that we were looking for, such as a compact footprint for working in tight quarters,” said David Cowley, President of BOSS. “But we were sold once we saw the ‘Made in America’ decals on the back. That’s an important value for our company, and we asked Manitowoc to leave it on the two machines we bought.”

Bennett International Group, LLC hosted the Second Annual Wreaths of Honor Ride on Thursday, September 12, in conjunction with Driver Appreciation Day events. The escorted motorcycle procession started at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and went through Henry County, Georgia to raise awareness for Wreaths Across America. The convoy included 7 custom-wrapped tractor trailers honoring armed forces, first responders, the Heritage Park Museum and Wreaths Across America.

“Wreaths Across America aligns with Bennett’s Patriotism core value,” said Lee Gentry, Executive Vice President of Bennett International Group. “We have strong roots in the military with our employees, drivers and customers. Honoring our fallen heroes is a passion of mine, and for so many of our employees who have lost loved ones or choose to honor the sacrifice others have made for our freedom.”

The first radar panel for the United States Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) Program was recently delivered by Bennett Motor Express (Bennett). Bennett driver, Eric Hessler, successfully transported the cargo from Lockheed Martin’s Moorestown, New Jersey facility to the Clear Air Force Station in Alaska. The delivery of the radar panel marks a key milestone for the LRDR Program.

According to Air Force Technology, LRDR provides precision metric data to improve ballistic defense discrimination. The radar will replace existing sensors in the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

“The technology implemented today and our enhanced ballistic missile tracking put into place for our Department of Defense is growing rapidly,” said Ted Gaze, Bennett Motor Express Vice President of Supply Chain, Projects and Sales. “We are excited to be a part of this project and to be a part of the solution that helps protect our country.”

BME plans to deliver a total of 20 radar panels between now and next year for Lockheed Martin and the LRDR Program.

According to the magazine, Bennett ranks No. 9 in the world for the total carrying capacity in metric tons of all specialized transport equipment in its fleet. The measure remained unchanged from the 2018 ranking.
